We’ve partnered with UltraCamp to streamline the registration for our learning programs, making it easier and more convenient for families to sign up. By creating an account, families can effortlessly fill out forms, make payments, and register multiple family members, all in one seamless process.

In this one-day Spring Mini Camp, your junior adventurer will get creative as they learn about wildlife and their natural surroundings through hands-on activities, crafting, special animal encounters, and more. These STEAM based activities are designed for grades K-3 & 7-9.

*SNAP/EBT cardholders can register for any educational program during the 2023-2024 season at 10% of the listed price. The SNAP or EBT card holder must be present on the first day of check-in with their card and a valid form of photo ID to receive the discount. See the Museums for All Program for more information.


ZOOCAMP THEMES
 

K-1: Nature's Treasure Hunters
Experience a day of adventure and exploration at Nature's Treasure Hunters camp, tailored for young nature enthusiasts! Dive into the wonders of the natural world, fostering a sense of curiosity and responsibility for our environment. Engage in activities and discover STEAM surprises that will inspire your child to become a devoted keeper of the earth's treasures.

2-3: Do You See What I See?
Join us for an exciting journey into the captivating world of animal vision! Through hands-on experiences, games, and STEAM activities campers discover the incredible diversity of sight in the animal kingdom, from the ultraviolet vision of bees to the infrared vision of snakes.

7-9: Beyond the Bite
Explore animal digestive systems, analyze dental structures, diets, and adaptations. Understand how zookeepers apply this knowledge for optimal animal care. Join us in this insightful journey into the heart of the animal kingdom, bridging theory and practical wildlife management!


Check-In & Check-Out

Check-in will take place at the Education Gate, which will be on the far left side when you enter the main parking lot of The Living Desert. You can follow the purple flags to the Education Gate. 

Camp check-in will begin 15 minutes prior to when camp instruction is scheduled to start. Pre-activities will be provided before instruction begins. We kindly ask that all parents and guardians exit the Education Gate by camp start.

NEW: Pick-up Policy
After our 15-minute grace period, a fee of $15 per individual will be charged for every 15 minutes that a camper remains at the zoo beyond the designated pick- up time. The total pick-up time allocated by staff is 30 minutes, consisting of 15 minutes before camp ends and 15 minutes.


Tips for Success! 

All participants need to come equipped for outdoor exploration and play! Please bring: sunscreen, a hat, close-toed shoes, and a refillable water bottle. 
 
The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens follows health recommendations from the California Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for the health and safety of our animals, staff, volunteers, and guests. All staff and campers are required to follow the recommended guidelines set forth by the county and state. 


Cancellation/Refund Policy

  • Cancellations made 14+ days prior: $40 non-refundable deposit, remainder will be refunded.
  • Cancellations made less than 14 days prior are not eligible for a refund.
