We’re excited to share that The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens has been nominated for USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Trail Award in two categories: Best Botanical Garden and Best Zoo. Voting is open now through May 24! Being nominated for Best Zoo in the Readers’ Choice Travel Awards has become an annual honor for which we are so proud. And this year, being recognized as a favorite botanical garden in North America speaks to our growing recognition. Once again, we are asking for the community’s help in voting for us in both categories, every day during the contest, to help us take a top spot on the list.

The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens connects visitors to the incredible animals of the world’s deserts. Featuring over 500 animals representing 150 species, from giraffes and meerkats to kookaburras and bighorn sheep, there is so much do discover.
Best Botanical Garden
The gardens of The Living Desert, with our towering acacia trees to iconic cactus, bring to life the incredible flora of the world’s deserts featuring over 50 immersive gardens, featuring over 1,400 plant species.
